LA PLUME DE DAVID ALEXANDRE LIEBERMANN

Unarmored dawn

I stood before you stripped and bare,

With no more heavy armor there.

With nothing left to guard or shield,

I had to let your mercy wield.

The stony walls began to slide,

Collapsing down on every side,

Leaving the spaces wide and bare,

With nowhere left to hide my care.

The weary knights have left their post,

No new guard rises from the host.

Defenceless in your gaze I stand,

My fate is resting in your hand.

I fight to keep my final ground,

To gather strength that can be found,

To prove I stand despite the pitch,

And through the beatings of the bitch.

The rage subsides, the breath returns,

As all the old defiance burns.

I drop the fight, release the pain,

And let the silence heal the strain.

The fallen stone makes room for light,

A gentle dawn to end the night.

Without the armor, whole and free,

I finally heal the rest of me.
